Enrique A's City Tips

  • If you are not on a tight budget, renting a car or taking taxis will make life easier.
  • A horse-drawn coach, the tram, and even the trolley buses that go around Saint Augustine, all make for fun forms of family transport.
  • Be sure to bring comfortable clothes; although it doesn't get too hot, the humidity sometimes makes it a bit unbearable.
  • It is best to visit in April or May, as this is mid-season and there are not as many tourists.
  • Almost every spot to visit is within walking distance, so you can wander around at your own pace.
  • There are quite a number of festivals that occur here each year, so keep an eye out for what's on during your visit.

A great time is what you and your whole family will have at the 18 holes of Fiesta Falls! The landscapes are incredible, and every hole has a unique aspect that will make it a challenge without taking away the fun. After finishing every hole, be sure not to miss the amazing view you'll get from the gazebo — purely gorgeous!

    • As good as it is in the day, it is also great at night. So try the course under the moonlight, as it opens at 10am and closes at 10pm!

What family doesn't love a good movie?! You might want to come by Corzaón Cafe to watch a matinee performance, and order something delicious to munch on while watching the movie; but if you just feel like having some lunch, you can also do that. Their service is always on point, the food is delicious, and the decor and ambiance make it a nice experience for all the family.

Experience what sea travel was like in times gone by with the whole family. You can choose to visit El Galeon or the Nao Victoria, both of which guarantee you a great experience as you learn more about the history of those who once navigated these ships, and what they encountered during their journeys on the high seas. The crew is very informative, and you'll surely get lost in all the information you'll take in over the three levels.

It is great to learn more about this family-run business, that has developed into a large company, and is responsible for making some of the tastiest chocolates in Saint Augustine. The tour is great; you'll get to see the process of making truffles and fudges up close and even have a delicious chocolate tasting at the end. Surely there will be at least one sweet-tooth in the family who will appreciate this?

You will get to see some of the weirdest things imaginable, including items from the personal collection that Mr. Ripley gathered himself. You may like some thing, others you may not, but you must take a peek for the sake of curiosity!

It is super fun for those who are courageous and adventurous but also great for those who wouldn't normally experience such thrills! You can do the whole course or just part of it — check with the super helpful staff as to which level is most suitable for you.

Quite an experience for everybody in the family!
