If you think St. Augustine is just another amusement park city in Florida, think again. St. Augustine is the oldest city in the country and, as such, has a rich history that is woven into the fabric of its streets and neighborhoods. While it's impossible to experience everything this town has to offer in a single visit, a long weekend is enough time to hit many of its must-see highlights.

Katie C's City Tips

  • If you take a tour, be sure to tip your guide: 15% of the total price for average service, 20% for an excellent experience.
  • There's really no bad time to visit St. Augustine, but the prettiest times are spring and fall.
  • It's not necessary to have a car in St. Augustine, but if you're planning on exploring outside of the Old Town, you will need wheels to make the most of your time.

There's a lot to see and experience in St. Augustine and one of the best ways to get your bearings and cross things off your must-see list is by taking the trolley tour. Not only will you be transported to all of the main attractions, but you'll also enjoy commentary from your trolley driver. It's a fun, convenient way to get around town.
