Parks, Points of Interest & Landmarks
Gorgeous mangroves, limestone formations, and impressive caves are the wonders of nature that will greet you at this park. Riding along on a boat, you'll see some perfect places to photograph and others that you should definitely visit to explore more. This is yet another incredible place in Khao Lak where nature has the spotlight.
Inside this island park, you'll find a little, charming, rustic village, built almost entirely upon stilts. Its people will receive you kindly, and the tranquility of the place will make it a dreamy pit-stop on your journey. You can have a drink and linger, and maybe see the football team training or the kids playing outside. You're bound to enjoy a few moments stopping by Panyi.
This beautiful, dreamy, sandy beach is a perfect place to relax. Take a walk, go for a swim, or just lay on the sand and read a book with a cocktail in hand, until you doze off to the alluring sound of the waves and the mesmerizing smell of the sea breeze.
An impressive memorial that should not be left off any Khao Lak itinerary. For some it may make a strong impact, and for others a good place for thinking and meditating. It is a reflection of the sad natural disaster that happened in Thailand, but also of how the Thai people recovered together as a community — along with people from all over the globe — making it through day after day and never losing their hope or their smiles.
At Ko Kho Khao, you'll find lots to see and you can even sneak in a little swim at the end. There are three Buddhist temples worth a visit, the Toan Thong waterfall is a good place to pause, and the Tung Tuk archaeological site showcases ancient Buddhist and Hindu statues and pottery. It's not just sand and pretty sunsets here!
Here you'll encounter the diverse style that is characteristic of Takua Pa. Different types of architecture are seen around this district, from Portuguese, to Chinese, to Vietnamese, but all with the typical Thai cultural elements. Try the food prepared and sold by locals here — a wonderful culinary experience!
In a pristine and untouched place, a meal at Mama's Kitchen means kind service, amazing food typical of the region, and an incredible sea view. Relax by the bay in the shade of coconut trees, listening to the sound of the waves and enjoying a tasty meal.
Tranquility at its best is what you'll find in here. With its four kilometers of palm trees, soft sand, and turquoise waters, this is an amazing place to snorkel for a bit, before heading back to shore to enjoy the view. All this is possible thanks to typically low and calm tide of Khuk Khak.
Steep gorgeous trails through the park lead you to a petite beach, a bit of exercise in disguise, thanks to the nature that will surround you on every step. After a hike, you reach the end of the trail, where a lovely, pristine stretch of sand awaits.
Yet another place in Khao Lak to see beautiful nature, this spot is especially popular for the variety of marine life you can see here. You'll find whale sharks and barracudas, and wherever you look there's a green landscape that lives in perfect harmony with the blue of the sky and the turquoise water. A nice boat ride will take you go around the park and present some gorgeous views worth photographing.
End the day at the most delicious restaurant in the area. A great ambiance, super attentive staff, and the best dinner that you could ask for are all waiting for you at Ka Jok See! The food will amaze you, and the best part is the music, dancing, and cabaret style performances. This is such a fun experience that you'll want to repeat it on your next holiday!
