Lives in London
Since Aug 2007
Hi. I’m Chris, an American freelance creative living in London. I keep busy working as a blogger, photojournalist, community manager, consultant, curator and more. The opportunities and challenges keep getting bigger, better and more meaningful for me every year! I’m having so much fun. Favorite destinations are many and my list of must-see places to visit seems to get longer the more I travel! I’m a huge fan of Lisbon, Istanbul and Queenstown – to name but a few preferred repeat locations. I also love heading back to the States every chance I find and cannot get enough of the Deep South – Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and the Carolinas – and Hawaii holds a particularly special place in my heart as well. And even though I’ve been based in London for years, it and the whole of Britain still yield myriad wonders for me.

Beaches, State Parks
This laid back and family-friendly beach in Hanaei Bay, with a funky little town attached and utterly stunning jagged mountain range backdrop, is an understandably popular destination on Kauai. Depending on time of day and of year, the water can be a giant bath of calm or churn of big surf. But whenever you go, the scenery is guaranteed to take your breath away.
One of Maui’s best known beaches, expansive and sandy Ka’anapali offers fun in the sun with all the amenities, plus easy access to a range of accommodations and attractions for all budgets.
At almost three miles long and hardly any resorts or hotels with direct access, this sandy beach is ideal for sporty types and for beachgoers seeking a bit of peace and quiet without having to stray too far off the beaten path.
Located at Kaui’s famous 'End of the Road' (all of the Ha’ena State), you'll find the especially pretty Ke’e Beach with its picturesque lagoon and views of the lush Na Pali Coast.
Not just one of Hawaii’s best beaches but often listed as one of the best on the planet, Lanikai is a favorite among locals and visitors alike. With an offshore reef keeping the tides calm, it’s a smart choice for families with small children.
Turquoise water, white sand, and gently sloping landscape equal a dreamy beach setting in this dry and sunny section of the Big Island of Hawaii.
The chance to see giant sea turtles are exceptionally good at this beautiful and unusual black sand beach. And even without the turtles, it’s a fun place to play.
Whether you’re among the adept who brave the giant waves or those more likely to consider surfing a spectator sport, you can’t help but be amazed by this epic destination on the famous North Shore of Oahu. And, oh yeah, as you might expect, the sunsets seen from here are lovely.
This black sand beach on an ancient coastal trail leading to heavenly Hana is an evocative retreat with its rugged volcanic landscape, freshwater caves and more.
Even with all its hotels and urban build up, the natural beauty and cozy charm of this world-renowned crescent of sand cannot be denied. There’s a reason Waikiki is such an incredibly popular tourist destination: it’s an awesome beach with gentle waves, a scenic backdrop and a wealth of attractions in close proximity. Have fun.
