Jessica B's City Tips

  • Most places will accept card payments, but there might be a small additional charge for purchases under £5. Always carry some small change with you just in case.
  • If you're taking the bus, have the exact fare ready - they don't give change!
  • If gratuity hasn't already been added to your restaurant bill, it's customary to tip 10%. It is not common to tip in shops.
  • If you're travelling by train, get a Day Saver Return ticket. This allows you return on any train and gives your trip more flexibility.

    Jessica B Says:

As the name suggests, the Jewellery Quarter is home to an abundance of jewellery retailers and manufacturers. From world-renowned brands to independent bespoke stores, this area will not disappoint. The Quarter has been creating jewellery for over 250 years and is where an estimated 40% of all British jewellery is made!

Although the Great Western Arcade is located in the heart of the city centre, it's hidden away between Colmore Row and Temple Row. You might easily walk by not knowing it's there, but this arcade is not to be missed! The building itself, constructed in 1875, is breathtakingly beautiful - and it's home to some of the city's most popular luxury brands and independent traders.
