This is our first trip to SF. We planned it as part of our first anniversary. It was a total of 6 days (incl the travel). So we got to stay for around 5 days. We spent 4 days in full at SF and planned for a day trip to 17 mile drive in Monterey.
I was surprised to find that SF has lot to offer for every person. It has wide variety of places where you can spend time in relaxation and fun. You can find various views of Golden Gate Bridge, which are absolutely amazing. I have absolutely fallen in love with SF and would like to go back visiting soon.
The list below provides all the places I have visited during my visit.
We called the restaurant to have my name put up on the list 45 mins before our arrival. Even after 45mins, we had to wait for 15mins. I could see why - due to lot of people waiting along with me to get in. Its a small restaurant with chairs so close by and its so loud. I went to this restaurant based on reviews from TripAdvisor and to my surprise the food was really good and we were happy about it.
This is a good restaurant quite opposite to the Ferry Building market place. I liked the food here (ordered a crispy salmon). The place was lively with quite a good number of people even for a Tuesday evening.
I stayed at this hotel all throughout my stay located in Alameda. It was decent hotel well with in a budget. I was travelling to SF each day from this place (some 10-15 miles). But still I found staying place cheaper, in spite of paying tolls for 5$ each day. The parking is free at this hotel and complimentart WIFI and continental breakfast. In all it was a decent place with in the budget.
Sometimes travelling to SF airport is expensive. I was travelling from east coast and found Oakland to be at least 20% cheaper. Ofcourse I am a big fan of Southwest Airlines, So I scored a double with cheaper fare (to Oakland) and 2 free check in bags.
