Charlottetown on the Cheap

Jun 3, 2006  Visiting PEI for the weekend.
1.5 of 5 bubbles based on 1 vote

We spent a Saturday in Charlottetown coming up with as many cheap/free activities for the family as we could

  • Category: Perfect day
  • Traveler type: Shopping, Repeat visitors
  • Appeals to: Families with small children
  • Seasons: Spring
  • 1. M&M Meat Shops Charity BBQ
    http://www.mmmeatshops.com/

Each year M&M Meat Shops host a charity BBQ for Crohns& Colitis Foundation. For $2 you get a hamburger or hot dog, small chips and a small drink. Cheaper than fast food and all the proceeds go to charity.

  • 2. CARI Pool
    http://www.caripei.ca/

We sent the kids with another family member to the CARI pool to spend a couple of hours on the water slide. Total cost was $7.20. Much cheaper than a theme park! And the kids had a blast.

  • 3. Confederation Court Mall
    http://www.confedcourtmall.com/

We took the kids here to decorate Mother's Day cakes. They were the only kids there at the time and there were tons of cakes. They both got a free iced 4" cake to decorate and covered them with 5 kinds of sprinkles.
