The view of the Gateway Arch standing at the base of the stairs on the bank of the Mississippi Rivier is better than anything. But if you must take the trip to the top, it's $14.00 for an adult ticket. Add an hour + riverboat cruise for only $6.00 more and it makes it a little more worth while. There's also a park area around the Arch great for a picnic, so take your lunch. Also note, it's a good idea to get there early to beat the crowd.
Take a tour of the Anheiser Busch Brewery for FREE. That's right, what beer drinking could go through St. Louis without stopping by the brewery. The tour is free, and yes you will find out what Hops are. You also get to see the Clydesdales, and the architecture of the 1891 Brew House is excellent. Oh yeah, and don't forget the FREE beer (or soda).
4. Union Station
St. Louis Union Station is a great place to shop. It also includes, a FREE historic museum on the Union Station Railway.
