11:30 start a walk up to Picadilly Gardens and make your way to Portland street. You can have a quick Sandwich at La Baquette or have a full all you can eat 3 course meal at Jenny's restaurant, underneath Brittania hotel. When you get to Brittania, do go in and take a look at the lobby, and the outside architecture is great as well: this was the biggest warehouse of Manchester once, build in the style of the Italian Pallazo
13:15 after your meal, stroll up to the Visitors Centre, get a map of the town, and the list with guided tours to take a pick from it lateron. Also: do play with the interactive maps where you can determine the best routes to take, see what's near etc.
13:45 walk past China town and go to this free gallery. You can spend hours looking at Manchester through the artists eyes, see historical paintings, temporary exhibitions and buy great postacards in the museumshop
15:30 just a small walk to John Rylands Library: a MUST when in Manchester, architecture and books are great, the atmosphere is unique! Don't forget to visit the toilets in the old part of the Library... it's like travelling back in time, but not yuckie or anything...
14:30 Take the free bus to the People's history museum. Again free entry! great museum to learn about problems the inhabitants had with their rights.
You can take a break in the Left bank cafe for some Afternoon tea, fantastic cakes again!
17:00 go across the bridge (Salford) and have a pint of beer at The Mark Andy
12:00 to end your Manchester visit have a nice time shopping. If yoy leave from the airport, take some time to eat at the picadilly trainstation before you leave, have a nice coffe or maybe even sushi while looking at the trains
