Free, Fun Things To Do In Orlando and Nearby.

  • 1. Lake Eola Park
    Lake Eola Park, Orlando

A perfect place for a mid day or early evening picnic or walk around the park enjoying a view of our famous Lake Eola fountain and surrounding skyline of spectacular high rise condos and office buildings. Occasionally there may be a free concert at the Lake Eola stage or an art show in the park. Located in the middle of downtown, it's a short walk to the public library, many sidewalk cafes and live music in Thornton park as well as downtown. If you really enjoy walking, Vietnamese Town is about 2 miles walk to Vietanese restaurants & shops on Colonial Dr.

  • 2. Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards
    Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards, Clermont

About a 30 minute drive from Orlando, Lakeridge gives free winemaking and tasting tours daily, and frequently on weekends has free outdoor music concerts. Check their event schedule.

  • 3. Downtown Disney
    Disney Springs, Orlando

This area of Disney is located outside of the theme parks and offers restaurants, retail stores, candy, ice cream shops, as well as stations for cocktails and margeritas with a view of lego dragons and a man made lake.

  • 4. Universal CityWalk
    Universal CityWalk, Orlando

CityWalk Universal is the nightlife part of universal that remains after the amusement park closes for the day. It offers free parking after 6PM, shopping, movies, restaurants, nightclubs(including The Hard Rock cafe) & music into the wee hours. Infrequently there will be a free concert on the CityWalk stage. It's free to roam the closed off street people watching. You can even walk the street with cocktail in hand. Emeril's, Jimmy Buffet's Restaurants are located here, among many others, of course, not for free.

  • 5. Cocoa Beach Pier
Cocoa Beach Pier, Cocoa Beach, Brevard County

This is Cocoa's boardwalk on the ocean offering bars, restaurants, and occasionaly live music. You have the opportunity to walk almost a mile of white sand beach, however no foilage to buffer you from the sun. Best carry a beach umbrella. Parking is free sometimes, but be prepared to pay a small parking fee, or park down the road if it is a crowded weekend.

  • 6. Celebration Town Center
    Celebration, Florida

The town that Disney built. I always refer to it as the home of the Stepford Wives as it is a charming town center that mimics a movie set. Great ice cream parlors, The Columbia Restaurant with the best champagne sngrias i've ever had, art shows and festivals several times a year, and great views of the manmade lake. Picture perfect Disney staging, with picturesque bridges, palm lined roads, many homes, condos and villas. It's free to sightsee, attend the art festivals, sit on the benches and enjoy the view and photograph a Stepford community.
