    Esperance Stonehenge, Esperance, Western Australia

Weird as its not my taste but having visited the original Stone Hedge in UK I don't understand why anyone would want to replica it in Australia.

However; its very quirky & would make an excellent function venue for a party etc.etc.

  • 15. Esperance Island View Apartments
Esperance Island View Apartments, Esperance, Western Australia

We really wanted to stay here but they were fully booked. We did drive past them to check them out & they did look to be the best option in town.

They are located across the road from the bay beach & approx 10min walk into town.

  • 16. Clearwater Motel Apartments
Clearwater Motel Apartments, Esperance, Western Australia

After finding that the Esperance Island View Apartments were booked out my next choice was the Clearwater Apartments. Unfortunately they too were booked out.

These apartments are located in the heart of town & would have the prime location regarding having easy access to restaurants, shops & cafes.

They looked rather impressive as the cottages / units had been recently renovated & looked seriously cute.

  • 17. The Jetty Resort
The Jetty Resort, Esperance, Western Australia

Location - The Jetty Resort is located directly opposite the famous The Tanker Jetty. Its approx 1km into town which is okay with a car however, it would be a long walk if you don't have one.

Check-in - We arrived early due to our early flight from Perth. Our room wasn't ready so we just signed the paper work for our room & car rental which was also provided by Jetty Resort. The receptionist promised to ring us when the room was ready which ended up being around 2pm.

Room - We had booked a queen size pool view deluxe suite which was located in the white block which either rooms overlooked the Tanker Jetty or the pool. The suite was spacious with a small kitchenette, table & chairs, couch & single settee.

The separate bedroom was average size with attached ensuite. There is also a large wall TV, fridge, microwave and a large balcony with a bbq. Underground private parking is also available.

The suite was comfortable & reasonably priced but nothing to write home about. We had originally wanted to stay at Inland View Apartments but they were booked out & so too were the Clearwater apartments which looked equally the best in town.

Facilities - There is an average outdoor swimming pool, Day Spa, BBQ area, & playground for the kids

Staff - We found staff to be helpful & friendly.

  • 18. Loose Goose
Loose Goose Bar and Restaurant, Esperance, Western Australia

Loose Goose Restaurant is located in Andrews Street in the heart of town. We were pleasantly surprised to find such a welcoming restaurant in Esperance. The decor could be updated a little however it's warm & friendly. It was extremely busy on Saturday night & we had to wait until 8.30pm for a table.

The menu is extensive with many options which include 3 or 2 course fixed priced menu at $55.00 for 2 courses or $65.00 for 3 with the added bonus of extensive use of local products like kangaroo, seafood, beef & pork. The menu itself is large with plenty of options available.

Overall we thought the restaurant was reasonably priced & being a BYO without corkage made this restaurant a great little find. The food was very interesting too.
Booking is advisable to avoid disappointment.

  • 19. Bonapartes Restaurant
    Esperance, Western Australia

Bonaparte's is located in town overlooking the harbour. It's a little difficult to find the entrance door as it's actually hidden away at the back of the building near the car park.

The Restaurant has a bar downstairs & a few pool tables which makes you feel like it's a pub. The decor seriously needs an interior decorator as it's extremely boring. Upstairs houses the restaurant which does have tablecloths & views.

We had to wait for 15mins downstairs as evidently they were busy so we had a drink whilst waiting. Finally we were shown to our table only to note the restaurant was half empty. (Must be only one cook!).

However, we finally tried an entree to share which was yummy ! Hawaiian crispy prawns. Our mains were equally good too. The restaurant is a little on the expensive side but if looking for a fine dining restaurant in Esperance then Bonaparte fits the bill.

Overall - A good quality restaurant with an interesting menu. The decor needs improving but for a small town it probably the best regarding having a drink as the pubs in Esperance totally need revamping & major renovations.
