The island's most popular beach features a clothing-optional area/great beach bars/good food. Also, a pretty lively place, with lots of beach bars, great for water sports, jet ski, parasail, kite surfing etc. About $15 for both chairs, umbrella & drinks.
One of the places less known to tourists is Pinel Island. It is very quiet with only 2 beach bars serving food & drinks. The water is always flat calm (very safe for small kids), even when there are rollers at Orient Bay. It is about a 10 minute trip on a small ferry boat which leaves every 30 minutes from French Cul de Sac, starting at 10.30am, cost $7 return. Last boat back is around 4.30pm. You can always take a walk around the island too. Beautiful views of St Martin.
French capitol - great destination for a nice city walk, visit the marina & West Indies Mall. Some good shopping spots too (upscale designer shopping). Everything is closed on Sundays though.
4. Fort Luis, Marigot, St Martin
A must see in Marigot. Takes only a few minutes to drive up and take a walk to the fort. The views of the city & the marina are breathtaking. Great spot to take a lot of pictures
5. Pic Paradis
Take a local road to Pic Paradis while on French side, go all the way up, & take a short walk to the viewpoint to enjoy the view of the island from the highest point. There was absolutely nobody there & the view was worh a 10 minut ride. There's another good spot to have some nice pictures on the way provided by Loterie Farm. We didn't try the Zip line, but it must be fun too.
The best shopping place on the island, but all shops close around 6, so you might want to get there right after noon to have enought time to walk around. Town Pier is a good place to take a break & to take some pics. The beach is small, but it's nice to have a frozen drink right on the beach after shopping. All beach bars offer happy hours.
Watch the planes landing from Sunset beach bar or come back at night to watch the sunset, enjoy street shows(check K-pasa for times), do some late shopping up to 11pm or try your luck in the casino. There are a few nightclubs in the area too that pick up after midnight. We went to Bliss & it was nice, got really crowded at some point. The music was good. Drinks are a bit pricy but like everywhere else?
