  • 2. Mediterranean Inn
    Mediterranean Inn, Seattle, Washington

Nicely located on street with several good restaurants nearby, including pizzeria voted tops, and a great coffee house. Walk from here to Seattle Center in ten minutes. Walk to Olympic Sculpture Park in fifteen, downtown in half an hour; or take #13 bus, which stops one block from front door. Excellent service; rooms clean, upper floors have great views.

  • 3. Seattle Public Library
    Seattle Public Library, Seattle, Washington

One of the world's most unusual libraries, outside and in. Spacious reading galleries, well lit with skylights; odd but interesting sloping ramps lead through main section of shelving; computer access for patrons; be sure to see the all-red meeting rooms floor--it feels as if you are in womb/heart/spaceship.

  • 4. Discovery Park
    Discovery Park, Seattle, Washington

A wonderful way to break a day of sightseeing, this park, a former military reservation, has enough space so you can be alone. Good for birdwatching.

  • 5. Seattle Art Museum
    Seattle Art Museum, Seattle, Washington

Recently renovated with much more space to accomodate larger exhibits and work from the collection; cafe has healthy food at decent prices; two hours needed to see it all (quickly).

  • 6. Quinn's Pub
    Quinn's Pub, Seattle, Washington

Good, no, great food at very reasonable prices; lunch menu includes several creative salads, monster sloppy joe burger. Like everywhere, good espresso. Seattle runs on caffeine. Neat neighbourhood on nearby Broadway with interesting clothing, music, furniture and book shops within several blocks.
