Been there, done that.
Hike from Simatai to Jinshanling is the coolest thing I have ever done in my life!
Bridge, old town, Jewish Qtr, great cemeteries, and architecture from many different eras. Loved it.
Amazing. Stayed here five days and never got tired of clambering up and down old ruins.
Now that was really cool.
Took an two extra days in China to see this, and only got to stay for 2 hours (long story) but still totally worth it. Highly recommend.
Standing atop the tower brought me to tears.
Excellent to see a piece of contemporary architecture placed on the list. Not to mention that the building is just gorgeous and innovative. Really enjoyed the tour and even saw two plays there.
If you only see one castle in Japan, make it this one.
Been there twice and loved it both times.
It was okay.
Nice summer cabin those royals had.
Went on a bus tour, and they didn't let us spend any time on the pathway to it with all the cool statues. Man, was I mad.
It was not as good as Stockholm.
Kinkakuji, Ginkakuji, etc. Excellent.
Very touching and very educational.
Nice, but I think I liked Kamakura better, though.
Took a little side trip here, glad we did.
Way too many people, but there is some good stuff there.
Was there as a child, but have a really good recollection of it.
Ancient Indian cliff dwellings, huge park, lovely terrain. Like it a lot.
Been on the rim a few times, need to go down inside.
Went camping there. Truthfully it was all my husband's idea. But glad I went.
Chaco Canyon, etc.
Afraid to go back, as it was soooo cool in my memory.
Very pretty and interesting and still working. Truthfully only took a few minutes to see.
I loved this. Probably because it would never happen in America. The belfry steps are old and worn and slippery, and not made for two way traffic. So it was pretty precarious at times going up, then coming down, and it was wet from the rain. And it would never happen in America, because we can't be trusted not to do something stupid and then sue. Oh, yah, the view was excellent as well.
Beautiful. Not well explained, little information available when you get there but, the place as a whole is lovely and the location up in the hills is gorgeous.
Day trip from Berlin. It's huge, barely scratched the surface. Lovely, but just couldn't connect to that sort of lavish living. Guess I should have asked to see the scullery kitchens and stables.
Yah, I kinda live here, so yah, I've been here.
Wow, never thought I would go to Delphi, the land of the Oracles. Actually, I probably thought it was mythical, but no. It's real. And really cool. The museum attached is excellent. The little town next to it is also really nice and peaceful.
Cool architecture, both inside the museum and out.
Lovely small walled, hill town with cool towers.
Amazing and a kinda not at the same time. Went in August, which means it was super hot and super crowded. They are doing so much work on the Parthenon at the moment that 3 sides were covered in scaffolding. But it's the Acropolis, and still so amazing.
Nice, okay didn't have a great time, but suspect that it wasn't the town's fault.
On Miwajima Isalnd. The Island as a whole was fabulous, the shrine by itself was pretty, but very minimalistic.
Thessaloniki was a really great place to visit. I love the way the ancient, the old and the new are intermixed. The individual pieces were nice, but it was best as a whole.
The watchtowers are really lovely and the old villages are just so picturesque. The watchtowers were everywhere, not just the 5 sites listed as WH. They are working on a bike path to get you to all of them, and it might be great...if they ever get it done and done correctly.
Melaka and Georgetown (Penang) are listed as one site. What a bummer.
Eh, I guess I have seen so many cool temples, that I wasn't terribly impressed. Still, it is nice, and it is still a working temple.
