There are three airports serving the Mexico City area.
Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX), located 11 km from downtown Mexico City, is the primary airport in the region. The airport, which has non-stop flights to more than 100 destinations worldwide, is served by about 30 airlines. It is a hub for Aeromar, Aeroméxico, Aeroméxico Connect, Interjet, Magnicharters and Volaris, and a mini-hub for Viva Aerobus. Travelers can fly non-stop to other destinations in Mexico, as well as North America, South America, Central America, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia.
Licenciado Adolfo López Mateos International Airport (TLC) is located 68 km from Mexico City and serves as the primary airport for travelers from Toluca. The airport is a hub for low-cost carrier Interjet, and is also served by Aeroméxico Connect, Spirit Airlines and Volaris.
Hermanos Serdán International Airport (PBC) is located 109 km from Mexico City. Aeroméxico Connect, American Eagle, United Express and Volaris serve the airport.
Travelers from Mexico City who are looking for cheap fares may be in luck. Several low-cost carriers, including Interjet (flying from MEX, TLC and PBC), Spirit Airlines (flying from TLC), Viva Aerobus (flying from MEX) and Volaris (flying from MEX, TLC and PBC), offer flights from Mexico City-area airports.
