Arriving in Myrtle Beach

Once only a collection of a few houses, Myrtle Beach has grown to be a major tourist attraction. A flight to Myrtle Beach will bring you to Myrtle Beach International Airport. This facility started out years ago as the Jetport and has grown and expanded to be a full-service facility. You will find ATMs, food, shops, and rental car services. The baggage claim is on the first floor of the terminal and the rental car agencies are directly across from it.

Getting Around in Myrtle Beach

Frankly, there is no real public transportation system in Myrtle Beach. Major resorts may provide shuttles to and from the airport to pick you up from your Myrtle Beach flights, but your best bet is to rent a car. If you want to go to the beach, you'll find that if you have a booked a hotel on the strip, all you will need to do is walk outside. If your hotel is more inland, you may want to consider going to either of the two state parks, Myrtle Beach State Park or Huntington Beach.

Main Attractions in Myrtle Beach

A cheap flight to Myrtle Beach brings you to a golfer's paradise. There are more than one hundred courses up and down the Grand Strand. Just as numerous are the mini-golf courses that are fun for families. Of course, the beach is the main attraction in this destination, but there is also Ripley's Museum and Ripley's Aquarium. The aquarium boasts hundreds of fish and a design that allows you to walk under the fish as well as next to them. Recently, the Wonderwheel has opened. This is a giant Ferris wheel that is outfitted with enclosed, air-conditioned cars that give you a spectacular view of the city and the ocean. You may want to consider riding it both in the day and again at night for the best experience.

Shopping, Dining, and Nightlife in Myrtle Beach

Shopping is limitless in Myrtle Beach. The Coastal Grand shopping mall is the largest in the city and is surrounded by restaurants. There are also beachwear shops and outlet shops in the city..
