Arriving at the Airport

After you get off of your flight to Cleveland, you will notice that the Cleveland Airport is relatively small. Despite its small size, the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport houses airlines that travel all over the domestic United States as well as other parts of North America. Airfare to Cleveland tends to be very reasonable, so it is a great place to go for vacation. Generally the airport is not crowded, very clean, and Cleveland flights leave and arrive on time.

Getting Around Cleveland

Unlike many big cities, Cleveland is not filled with taxi cabs at every corner. Before arriving at the destination, you will want to make plans for how you'll get to your accommodations. Cleveland does have city transportation via RTA buses and trains, but it is mostly limited to the city center itself. Cab companies are available, but they require some notification to come and pick you up before your arrival. The airport assists visitors in finding adequate transportation whether it is through taxis or rental vehicles. Rental vehicles are recommended because they are more reliable and easier to come by than public transportation and cab companies.

Main Attractions in Cleveland

Cleveland has many natural and manmade attractions within its city limits and surrounding suburbs. The most obvious feature is its proximity to Lake Erie. Many people describe being on a beach on Lake Erie as being at the ocean without the salt or the sharks. The beaches, such as Fairport Harbor beach, are clean and beautiful.

Other attractions include the famous Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Progressive Field, and the Brown's Stadium. The Cleveland Science Museum is an amazing display. It holds an Omnimax Theater and many hands-on exhibits. Cultural events include the Cleveland Art Museum, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, and Severance Hall, which houses the Cleveland Orchestra, considered one of the best orchestras in the world. Playhouse Square holds a variety of Broadway-style musicals as well as traditional plays.

Shopping, Dining, and Night Life

Cleveland offers an array of restaurants. The Great Lakes Brewing Company has great food and a host of hand-brewed beers. In Cleveland's version of "Little Italy", there are a handful of fantastic Italian places. If you've saved money on your cheap flight to Cleveland, you should take advantage of some of the city's great shopping. One of the biggest malls in Cleveland is housed at Tower City.
