Arriving in Milan

Milan. Just the sound of the name conjures up visions of fashion show runways and beautiful models. But the city has much to offer anyone who books a cheap flight to Milan, even if it isn't fashion week. You will arrive in one of three airports: Malpensa International, Linate Airport, or Bergamo Orio Al Serio Airport. Malpensa has two terminals with most traffic using terminal one. Linate is used primarily for domestic and short international Milan flights. Bergamo is strictly low-cost fare.

Getting Around in Milan

Malpensa provides many options to get from the airport to your hotel. The Malpensa express is a train service. There is the Malpensa shuttle which operates throughout the day. The Malpensa bus service runs every thirty minutes. Should you choose a taxi instead, be sure that it bears the sticker "Taxi autorizzato per il servizio aeroportuale lombardo" to ensure that you get an honest fare. Once in Milan, you can use public transportation, rent a bike, or rent a car from Avis. Should you choose to rent a car, you can use it to travel to other Italian cities.

Milan is a world-renowned city when it comes to fashion, and nearly all the major designers have shops here. Enjoy Versace, Prada, Gucci, and others on the Via Montanapoleone. But there are also outlet centers where you can find the same wonderful brands at much lower costs. Among the many wonderful restaurants, those serving real Milanese cuisine are some of the best.
