Springfield, Virginia

Are there places to sit along the path? I have someone who walks with a cane and would need to rest along the way as needed.

Yes it is certainly a friendly Zoo for all abilities. It has some hills, 2 if I remember right, but should not be too difficult to maneuver for cane walkers as the path is smooth not rough gravel or paved. There are benches throughout so easy sitting and viewing of the Zoo or lights is nice and other members of the party can walk around in the area. It is mostly on level ground so it should be an overall pleasant experience.

Yes, there are benches throughout, although it is a bit hilly in places. It's a gravel walkway and pretty easy to navigate in most places.

Yes,there are picnic tables and benches, as well as a covered seating/waiting area for the safari ride. The walk/pathways are wide so a walker on wheels with a padded seat can easily maneuver through the zoo. It's also helpful that each animal section is not very far from the others so there isn't a lot of walking or ground to cover. I hope this helps.
