Has anyone sat at the “chefs counter”? Can you detail exactly what that is like? When making reservations you have a choice of the dining room or chefs counter. Thanks!
We sat at the Chef’s Counter and we really enjoyed it! It is a high top counter with chairs that pull up. The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed seeing all the dishes being prepared. They also gave us some special sampling’s of dishes and gave us extra recommendations that made it a really amazing experience.
We originally were going to do the Chef's counter, but upon arrival my husband was worried it might be warm right off the cooking, (I seriously doubt that is so but who knows, maybe ask them) so we moved to the end of the bar and really, really enjoyed the bartender! The Chef came out and spoke to us, which was fun. If you adore watching cooking and that is your thing then do it, nothing to lose! You are at a bar looking right into an open large window into the kitchen. So, no real opportunity to chat with anyone else at the bar. Your backs are to the rest of the restaurant. We decided a different experience was for us. Absolutely love the place!
My girlfriend and I recently sat at the chef's table. As others have mentioned it essentially a short side of the bar with view of the kitchen. It was nice being able to watch the food as its prepared and the chef actually provided a couple samples throughout our meal. Chef and the rest of his staff were very friendly and didn't mind answering questions about what was being prepared or recommendations for dinner. We followed all of their recommendations and had one of the best meals we've had in very long time. It was a very engaging experience we look forward to booking again in the future.
Sat outside on terrace. Jargon’s only downfall is that it is a small place and can get too noisy. If you want to converse while dining, I would not pick the chef’s counter. However, if you are 100% foodie and want some extra attention, I think the counter seat may work for you.
To be honest, the Chefs counter is part of the bar. I really enjoyed the booth we at. Food is exceptional.
The chef's counter is like a bar onto the kitchcen. If you are familiar with the chain Carrara's, it is along the line of the counter next to the kitchen there but less public. We usually sit at the bar which is adjacent to the chef's counter and provides the same level of intimacy as the che'f counter..
