I think I would go to the Wailea side for a Honeymoon. This side of the Island is mostly for families and caters to such. Wailea is a lot quieter and slow going.
Hi! I think it really depends what your looking for. I like the villas because of the kitchen and washer/dryer. This is a great option because you don't have to eat out all the time and save money. It's very family orientated, but still good for couples. Overall, its a great value with everything they offer and the location is great! Just a short walk to Whalers Village! The rooms here have more space than a hotel room too and you don't feel stuck there. I think what separates a timeshare/villas and a hotel is that at the villas you feel like you are free to do anything and everything and you are on your own. While at a hotel, its a hotel. I hope this somewhat helps you!
Although it would definitely work for a honeymoon, it is pretty much a family oriented resort. Honeymooners should definitely stay in either the Lahaina or Napili Villas. The main unit is full of families with young children.
There are 3 villas . They all have their own pool areas. The main areas called Molikai and Lanai has the big pool areas and childrens pool. The Napali villas are more adult orinintated with pool only 3-4 feet deep. Fabulous units. We stayed there in May. Just my husband and I. We own there. Waiela is also beautiful. Four Seasons, Marriott and Grand Waielea in Waielea are also a good choices for honeymooners. On higher end.
It depends on what you are looking for. It is a great location, but it is full of kids. It is a condo/timeshare resort so depending on what tower you are staying in you may or may not have a full kitchen.
If you decide on staying in just a hotel, I love the Westin, and my husband and kids love the Sheraton.
I guess it is all what you make of the trip. There is still an activities desk to help plan trips, there is a restaurant on site, a pool side place to eat, pool side bar, a starbucks, and a beach activities desk also (for surf lessons, etc.) There is also a spa at this location.
If you are going here for your honeymoon, the one company I do highly recommend for snorkeling, they have different trips, is Trilogy. The prices may seem high, but if you go to Lanai, it is literally all day. The price is well worth it!
Hope it helps. Have a wonderful trip and a happy honeymoon!
