Is it easy to get to the beach? While I love staying in hotels and enjoying all they have to offer, I am considering this hotel for a girls' weekend and I know they will want to head to the beach daily and have easy access.
Yes it is an easy drive. Jump on the 264 east for 15 minutes and the highway ends in the middle of the boardwalk. Then as others have mentioned once you return to the Westin Virginia Beach in the evening you can enjoy the dinning and shopping all located in the town center area.
It is only 15 minutes drive to the beach via 264 East. The Westin is such a nice hotel and the Town center area offers a variety of good restaurants, shopping, movie theaters, along with the arts center. The Town center is a planned safe social environment with the above mentioned amenities.
Getting to the beach, depending on which one, you would have to drive about 15 minutes. Virginia Beach Oceanfront on Atlantic Ave is 15 minutes away and you can jump on the Norfolk Virginia Beach Expressway straight there. If you girls are ok with driving 15 or minutes each way then the Westin would be nice.
The oceanfront is about 15-20 minutes east on 264. This hotel is a bit more inland in a city area called Town Center. But I will say I plan on staying here in July and spending the whole day at the beach and returning in the evening!
