Hi , My husband and I are staying at the Continental from the 2nd August / 6th August, attending the wedding of Cathy and Reuben on Wed 5th, we thought we'd also make it a little holiday/break . After reading the reviews ! We are looking forward to spending a few days at the hotel, hopefully we'll get upgraded as did some other guests!! Worth a try.

Whistable is a quiet seaside getaway from the hustle and bustle of London so you wont find any Hiltons or Sheratons here. What you'll find is that the owners of Hotel Continental are committed to making your stay as comfortable as possible. To our delight, the linen was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was simply scrumptious. We enjoyed a quiet, restful stay in a room with a lovely seaside view. One may miss a few of the modern amenities of newer establishments but I'd stay at this hotel again, in a heartbeat!
I would think by now all the rooms have been refurbished. The room we stayed in early in the year at the front was due to have the new window frame's fitted. Also updated so you will be fine. We enjoyed our stay albeit a sparce small room but the view was good. And also the food.
Agree with the other reviewer you should make sure you are in a newly refurbished room, we phoned them direct when we booked and they told us the room number we would be in, you might want to do that.
Hope you enjoy staying at the Hotel Continental as much as we did. As I said before the staff were very friendly and helpful. There are some lovely places to visit nearby. We liked Sandwich and we also visited Sissinghurst gardens. Leeds castle is also worth a visit.
We very much enjoyed our stay - we had a room with a balcony which made it extra special, but it's a good location in any case.
As long as your in a newly refurbished room you'll be fine, if it's not then don't expect any luxuries!!!!
