Hi - Is this place kid-friendly? I have 2 kids of age 7 and 4. We as a family would like to spend 3 nights here. Please let me know.
Yes it is very friendly to all
The previous several responses very well express what I had in mind to say. "Kids" this age vary greatly. Some just want to run around, swim in the pool and watch TV. Private Hotel isn't for them. But for quiet, curious, respectful kids of any age interested in nature it's a great place. Not mentioned by others, Buttermilk Falls is nearby and is a great hiking place for families. At the bottom of the falls there is a swimming hole that kids love. I also highly recommend the Science Center on the other side of downtown Ithaca. It is across the street from the Farmers Market, which has all sorts of interesting foods on weekends.
its a big open area. Hiking, quiet reading, walking, would be the activities. There are not playground type activities or areas. If you want your kids unplugged, this would be a great spot to get them off the grid.
If your children appreciate nature, then yes. This property is in the country, quite peaceful and lots of space to run and discover. On a hike we saw deer, woodpeckers and wild turkey. It does have a pond, so a 4 & 7 year old need to be supervised. When we stayed Michael (owner) was incredibly accommodating with our need to be gluten free. I bet he could make a fun breakfast for kids as well.
It's not a "resort like" place with amenities that would keep your kids occupied. It's a quiet place with beautiful scenery. If your kids like to do outdoorsy stuff, there is plenty of land and.a pond. We were there in early spring and it was still cold. I will say that if you have a discussion with Muchael (the owner) he would cooik them fun meals and might have suggestions about fun things you can do. The rooms are very unique and can be adapted to a family. As far as kid friendly, it depends on what type of kids you have. I hope that this helps.
