The Cave Questions & Answers

Hi - I'm traveling to Iceland in mid June with 6 other family members. Is it necessary to book tickets in advance? Ideally, I'd like to do it on a day with subpar weather, but don't want to show up and find out there's no tours available.

Thank you,

Chris

We booked online the day before we went, as we wanted to be flexible. It was April though and the tour was full and we got the last places. It's very popular and obviously gets booked up in advance!

We travelled in September and turned up at The Cave just in time to take the last tour of the day without booking in advance. If you travel during more popular times, probably best to book.

I've only been there in the winter (Early April). On the day we went we got the last tickets- booked same day. Given the number of people who travel to the area in the summer, you'd probable be better off booking at least a little in advance.

Yes you need to book in advance as is only a few tours a day. 4 -3 days in advance will do. Staff are very friendly you can visit the website.
