How does butterbeer taste like and what's the best time to ride Harry potter rides? ( going in June)
Butter beer is delicious but hard to describe. It definitely has a butterscotch flavor to it, creamy and cold. A definite "must try" if you're going to Universal.
If you are staying at a Universal hotel, you can get into the park an hour earlier and that is the best time for Harry Potter rides. The fast pass is helpful but usually expensive during the busy months. In June, it's going to be busy so expect some waits, especially the popular rides.
Butterbeer tastes like a good cream soda with a butterscotch foam. You may be interested in the frozen type when visiting in June. Download the Orlando Studios app when you get to the park, and get the express pass if you can to make the most of your time. The Gringotts ride and the Forbidden Journey ride seem to take the most time. But an express pass will get you through everything else in a snap!
It's like fizzy butterscotch soda. The frozen version is smoother and my husband and I both preferred it to the regular. I can't really answer about the rides though because we went in January and the lines were pretty short for everything. I am sure you will have waits in June, but look into the fast pass.
The ice cream tastes like butterscotch and grass clippings. My family loved it but that after taste yak!
I would skip everything and go directly to the NEW London / Diagon Alley side (where the old Jaws boat ride was) first when you get to the park, then ride the train to the OLD Hogwarts side after seeing Diagon Alley and the Gringold's Bank ride. ASK if the ride is working before getting in line!!! They wont tell you because they "think" it will be fixed soon (it wont be) and you might waste time standing in a line that does not move. Many of the rides REQUIRE you put your coats and bags (even purses I think) in lockers before getting on rides. FYI again... there are tons of stairs on the train ride. ASK to use the elevators, which are not obvious!
You MUST buy the two park pass to ride the Hogwarts express train between the two parks ($144) FYI parking is $17 OUCH!
The fast past doesn't work for either Harry Potter worlds but going as a single rider can speed up your time once you have been through it once to see the bank. We went just before Christmas and while it was busy we found that the best time for the Gringotts ride was just before the park closed. There was a light show happening and that may have helped but we walked right on the ride and found it quicker than even the early admission time.
The butter beer tastes a bit like a coke float ! I didn't like it that much but the mug it comes in is nice to keep
It's a bit like a coke float ! I didn't like it much but the cool cup you get to keep is nice
Butterbeer tastes like Cream Soda with a butterscotch topping! I prefer the frozen, personally!
As for the best times to ride the rides, I highly recommend staying on resort because you are allowed in the park an hour before the general public. The on site hotels offer unlimited fast passes (Except for Cabana Bay) however, the big Potter attractions in the parks do NOT have a line for them. If you are looking into purchasing a fast pass simply for the Harry Potter attractions, you will be let down. Other than the Potter rides, they will work for any attraction in the parks with the exception of the Rip Ride Rockit.
If you are on a budget and still want to see Harry Potter, but don't want to pay an arm and a leg, I highly recommend the Cabana Bay hotel. They have plenty of buses that run in the morning to go over to the parks and you still get that extra hour with the other on resort guests! I also recommend more than one day if you plan on hitting both the Studios and Islands of Adventure. Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley are extremely detailed out.
Hope you have a safe and fun trip!
P.S. don't forget to use the bathroom in Hogsmeade!
Its tastes like a sweet birch beer.
