I am arriving to Warsaw and have to stay 10 hours until my next flight.
How I can go to see old town from airport ?
What is the best way to get there by public transit and how long it will take so I can be back on time for my flight ?
Thank you,
You failed to mention which Airport you are flying into because it makes all the difference!!!
Warsaw Modlin Airport is about 45 minutes away in a taxi and would cost approximately 80zloty-a bus is only 7 zloty
As for time on the bus I’m not sure sorry as I took a taxi.
Warsaw Chopin Airport is much closer
If you’re there for 10.30 am I would go straight to the tall statue of Sigmund opposite the Presidential Palace and look for the guys holding bright yellow umbrellas with flags on top representing what language they speak- they are FREE walking tour guides - the tour takes up to two hours and takes in so much including the Old Town- you just give the guide a tip at the end.
I hope this helps
if you are arriving at Chopin airport then by taxi is around 25 minutes , actually i took Uber and it's reasonable price , a friend told me that they have special lanes for bus , so if there is heavy traffic , you don't worry you take a bus coz it's always have a clear road
From Chopin by bus or train, public transport is a good choice, but buy tickets otherwise fee is a big sum.
I took a taxi to centrum. It was cheap, under 15€. But be sure it is an official taxi, not taki or something else.
If you are flying Chopin - Old Town is about 25-30 min drive depending on what time of day
Id UBER from the airport to that area - the rates are reasonable
If you are coming back later afternoon, there was lots of traffic around 5pm when I did it and it took about 40 minutes door to door
Its worth the excursion if you can swing it
At what hour and on which day will you arrive at the airport? At which airport will you arrive? Chopin or Modlin airport? Once you will confirm this info I will send you details how to get to the Old Town by public transportation.
