Is the castle and cathedral free? Bit confused as some posts seem to say it's free and others say it's a charge?
All of the above. When we were there we couldnt have gone in as it was the first day of closures due to covid. We enjoyed walking the grounds and the views of Krakow.
It is free to enter the courtyards but you will need to pay for entering inside the various parts of the castle
It is free to go up and walk around all the Castle courtyards and see the views across Krakow from the castle parapets. There is a good cafe up there also that serves good strong coffee..There are two or three different parts inside the castle that you can choose to pay and see, some reports here say its worthwhile to pay and see them, and others not, depends how keen you are on the historical side I suppose.
The grounds are free to wander around ,there is an outdoor cafe there with great cake. There are ch,argues for the various bits of the castle and cathedral so you just pay for where you want to go.
Good morning from Greece. No, it isn't free. You should buy a ticket, and the amount is about 25 euros. Enjoy your trip..
