Lots of great advice here, but just to add - if you do decide to drive you can actually park in Downtown Carpark opposite the Museum and buy a discounted $4.50 parking voucher from the Museum ticket desk. This will give you four hours of parking which should be plenty of time for your visit!

I do not think you need your GPS to find it. It is well signed and close to the city and would be a short stroll there should you be staying in the city. I agree it is right on the waterfront where the cruise ships dock. We were on a cruise and our visit was part of a tour we booked on the cruise. I suggest that if you visit the museum make sure you include a sail on the harbour on their flat bottomed yacht it is very enjoyable and you get to see things around the harbour that you would not see just walking or driving around. You will enjoy your time in Auckland.

We stayed at the Copthorne Hotel and the Maritime Museum was just down from that hotel in Quay Street .

The actual address of the Museum is Cnr, Quay St and Hobson St. Its also called Princes Wharf.

All you have to do is to enter the address into your GPS. But you shouldn't need to do that because it.s so easy to find...

If you go past the big America's Cup Yacht that's on display, then you have gone too far, as the entrance to the museum is just to the right as you are standing in front of the yacht....

The museum is located at the end of one of the main streets and very accessible, among the many restaurants, yacht piers and near the ferry building. Just ask your hotel. Your GPS may take you to it and you will need to find parking. However if you are parked by the ferry building, it is an easy and pleasant walk.

Easy peasy to find. Right on the waterfront. Look for the biggest cruise ship docked, face it and then walk to your left you will run right into it. A fantastic museum!

If you enter Viaduct Harbour that will direct you to where you need to go but I wouldn't advise parking as it is expensive. Public transport and also the hop on hop of bus stops right near the museum so I would probably suggest using that - the hop on hop off is also a brilliant way to see Auckland and you can get on and off as many times as you like, it is also a very inexpensive and enjoyable way to see the city. I hope you enjoy Auckland as much as we did - in fact we are returning again next January!

I suppose you just need to enter the address of the Museum (149-159 Quay Street | Viaduct Harbour, Auckland) in your GPS.

I dont think you need a gps to find it....Its well sign posted and best reached on foot as there is only limited and expensive parking nearby.

Its right on the waterfront in downtown Auckland not far from the main train/bus station and ferry terminal. Depending at which hotel you are staying it might be in walking distance.
