We returned from SSL and wondered the same thing. The only thing I can put it down to is that it probably would take an hour to get too and that there aren't many other resorts to make it economically viable. Quite frankly, there's many better resorts closer to Male unless you are fixated with Six Senses

I very much disagree. We stayed in Baros before, which is close to Male and ranked #1 here. For me totally not understandable. there are at least 2 stars difference between the two. If you stayed in the 4 Seasons anywhere in the world than expect the same quality and service at Six Senses. Totally worth it!
