As everyone has said, there is plenty of free parking along the sea front. It does get pretty full at certain times of the year, so you may have to drive along a little bit further, or to park in one of the side roads. There has never been an occasion that my husband has not been able to find a parking spot. Quite often we can find a place just where we want it, near to the toilet block, and the entrance to the steps that lead down to the beach. You can also park along the main shopping street, but spaces are sometimes hard to find, and if you do find one, then there is a limited time you can stay there, but it is enough time to browse the shops and do some shopping. I hope this helps you.

Free parking along the front. Get there early on high days and holidays! 1 and one eighth miles of parking. Beautiful beaches all the way along.

As previous answers, parking along seafront is free and if really busy you can generally find a spot along the side roads. Why not check out Connaught Ave. and all the lovely little independent shops. Parking in Connaught Ave. itself is limited to two hours.
