The train ride from Oslo to Bergen is spectacular. We did it as part our our Norway tour earlier this year. The line starts at sea level in Oslo and goes straight over the top of the coastal mountain range well above the tree line and into glaciers. One gets a view of just about every type of scenery possible in Norway.

Consider a 1/2 day detour on the even more spectacular Flam Railway from Myrdal at which the Oslo train stops.

In Bergen we stayed in Hotell Hordaheimem (Best Western Plus) which very central and right by the Harbour opposite Bryggen.I would think this would be OK for the cruise ship terminal.

The hotel address is C.Sundtsgate, 5004, Bergen.

We did the exact same thing you're doing. Came off the Viking Cruise, spent one extra day in Bergen then took the beautiful train ride (long 7 hours) to Oslo. Stayed at the Grand Hotel. Absolutely beautiful great location to town

The train journey is beautiful. Especially in July, I could imagine. The hotel in Oslo I can recommend is Zander K. Very modern hotel and just 1 min from the train station. Central Bergen is a very small so from the hotel to the dock is about 10-15 min walk. Let me know if you need more helo :)

I stayed at the Zander K in Bergen, which is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. The train trip from Oslo to Bergen is spectacularly beautiful even if you can't get on the special Flåmsbana.

I stayed at the Clarion Admiral in Bergen, from Oslo I had taken trains to Flam and spent the night so from Flam it was a boat ride to Bergen, walked from the boat right to this hotel. I took a cab to the ship port which is a distance from the beautiful harbor.

We were there off a cruise ship also, but I did a quick check and looks like train station is very close to the Brygen wharf. as noted in a previous reply there is a Radisson blue right on the wharf. It is about a 10 minute walk to Brygen wharf from the cruise ship Dock. However if you haven’t done so already you should check which dock your ship will come into, as there are 2, and the other one requires a shuttle to get to The Brygen wharf. Check the Visit Bergen com, Bergen-Guide com, and rail. cc/en/Bergen websites for more info on the train. I tried to add links for you but TA wouldn’t let me post it.

Sorry did not stay at all there since I was on a cruise. Search for Hotels in Tripadvisor or Agoda. I know is a Radisson Blu Hotel there and another called Thon that is nearby.
