Do you give your tour guide a gratuity? What is an appropriate amount?
Depends on the quality, 10 if it was good, 15/20 if it was excellent.
The tour is free, but you are also "free" to give the tour guide a tip, which is their only recompense for their work. So be fair!
As a guideline (as of April 2018), approx. 15 Euro per person on average is reasonable, but that is fully up to your own circumstances, what you think the tour was worth and the value you received from the guide. In our case as fortunately we can afford it and we were so satisfied with the tour, we gave more than the average. We still felt we got our moniey's worth!
I tip minimum 10 euro, more if they're really amazing
My friend and I gave €5 each
Yes, if you like the tour you leave a tip. I usually like to leave 10€. €15 if I really loved it
Yes. Tours are free but even them, at the end, remember you that's that their job. I usually give £5/5€ but they usually are very good guides so I might give a bit more. Hope I've helped you!
Yes this is how they earn money. They suggest you give what you feel your was worth. As our guide was excellent and we really felt he did an amazing job I gave him £10 per person in our party, (about €12)which I felt represented excellent value as no way could we have booked a private tour for that amount.
