Easy way to get there. As above the circum train are frequent cheap but crowded. If you get on the wrong one its a 25 min walk uphill, not bad actually and you can go through the Pompeii archeological site to kill 2 birds to speak. The train Italia has a nicer and less crowded train, still not that expensive and takes you directly to the Church. Even if you want to see the archeological site, there is a less crowded back door with entrance fee of course 10 min away so again you can do both. The church will take no more than 20 min to see. I would say with train rides 30 min each way you can see both and be back in time no problem. Plan on 2 hours min for archeological site.

You can take the Circumvesuviana to Pompei Scavi and then either walk 20 minutes into town or you take a taxi from the Circumvesuviana into Pompei town. I think the fare is about 10 Euro but check with the driver before getting in the cab.

There is a local bus that leaves at the bottom of the hill from the station, but you may need to buy a ticket in advance from a shop nearby.

The alternative is the train from Naples railway station to Salerno, which stops at the Pompei town station which is a 2 minute walk to the sanctuary.

This summer the trains were running every 30 minutes. Just make sure the train stops in Pompei.

The sanctuary is well worth a visit and if you want to stay overnight there is a pilgrims hostel right across the square from the church.

Hello! Is not very difficult to get to. The sanctuary is situated on the main square of Pompei town. You can rent an apartment here, I am renting one right near the Sanctuary. Many people who come to see Sanctuary of Pompei rest at least for one night here, like this is not too tiring and also can participate in the messa early in the morning. +393317855242
