Am I likely to walk through fields with cows on Ebhor Gorge? If so, are the cows fenced off from the public or allowed to roam openly?

You won’t find cows in Ebor Gorge it’s a steep climb down and up.

No cows, it is woodland, some steep stone paths, and unlucky for us the odd car burglar. I’m sure lightning won’t strike twice is is a lovely place for a short walk!!

The cows are fenced off, if your not paying attention is easy to end up by the fields but they are clearly marked

It depends on the exact route you go. There are certainly cows on the hills above the gorge. If you visit the gorge from the lower path entering at the bottom of the gorge and walking up through it then back again you will be fine.
