HI Gabraelle - have just read your review of The Rockwell Hotel - may I say that I think you had a lucky escape in moving rooms - I stayed in that lower ground floor bedroom at the end of July with a work colleague, and at 1am on our last night, we were awoken to find a man crawling across the floor! He took off with my Apple laptop, iPad, Louis Vuitton handbag and wallet and all contents - the total of which was quite a considerable sum of money - the police thought the security was sadly lacking - the fencing round the hotel garden was very low with many useful 'stepstools' conveniently placed to assist escape by the burglar - the night manager was obviously not watching the CCTV which very clearly showed the burglar looking round the hotel garden for around 10 minutes before coming to our room! Management have been very unhelpful and have offered me only around a third of the total of my belongings in compensation!
Hi Tessa! I am so sorry that happened to you. We were checking in as the police were there reviewing the video. The front desk tried to keep everything quiet but now my speculations are confirmed. The handyman for the hotel came to our room to install a lock. Sadly that never took place. The hotel is a great location, but they need to review their customer service standards and security. I hope in the end you are compensated fully for your loss.
