We were there when Maria passed 400 miles east of Nassau. No problems... They did have some rough surf for a while, but other than that, the place was perfect.
It all depends on the area you are headed to. We were in Nassau at the Sandals Royal Bahamian. It was still in good shape. They had some rougher waters than normal which caused some issues for operation of the ferry boat that runs between the main resort and the offshore island and we couldn't really snorkel right off the resort or the island and see much because of that part. But the diving was still great and the resort was still beautiful. We went to downtown Nassau and they were also still doing fine. No major damage to speak of and everything was open and operating as usual. We were there right in between Irma and Maria and have spoken to a few people there after and they haven't had any further issues with Maria or with Jose.
