Hi CruiseGirl_10, great to hear you loved the SGR, we'll be there on 9/27. Can you tell me more about how to get the most out of the Butler Service (I feel strange being waited on) and what you did at the resort? Any tips we need to know?
You will be "waited on" graciously at the resort no matter what. The butler service will save you time (e.g they will get you food on the beach and you won't need to walk for it.) i thinks its especially useful if you go with others or meet up with another "butler' couple you like.
There is catamaran sailing, snorkeling, diving. None (of these are long trips but fun. Do reserve times, though.I enjoyed the golf as it was the first time I had someone caddy for me (teeing up my ball, choosing clubs)
Don't miss Kimonos at sunset. It is a truly Japanese feel water level/view. Shuffleboard, life size chess board. The "hidden pool" is the deepest and very quiet, private. Don't miss any of the shows, "White nite" party is all white dress - it follows the chocolate bar.Sat night is the steel pan show. We went to Dolphin Cove - nice , not a long trip. Didn't do the luminous lagoon but if you haven't experienced ocean phosphoresence (we have) it would be a lovely trip. Make sure you ask about any trip credits. It came with our package but we didn't find out until almost the last day.
Hi! We did not utilize the Butler Service. I don't think that would have been a good fit for my personality but we talked to others that really enjoyed having that service. I got the impression it was an easy service to use. There is an awful lot to do at the resort itself. We swam, snorkeled, scuba dived, etc. The evening entertainment was usually pretty good too.You can easily tailor your vacation to be as active or as relaxing as you want it to be. I like active vacations so we had something planned every day with one day of just relaxing on the beach. I'm jealous and can't wait to go back. Enjoy!
the butler drives you around the resort (which is nice) but they don't hang around and bug you. they come at times you request during the day. they plan any activities and make any reservations you need. just use them like a waiter sort of...not like a servant. we relaxed A LOT, swam, ate at the beach, went to the dance club, swam, scuba, snorkel, water bike, massage, hot tub, hammock, exercise room, tennis, swam, went to the shop outside of the resort to buy Diet Pepsi. We did not go into Ocho Rios or do most of the evening activities. Have a great trip!
