hello I will be staying at the esmeralda resort in April and I was wondering after talking to a few people whether your drinking water is put thru a filtration system????

Stick with the bottled water. Water from the taps is risky anywhere in DR. You run a high risk of getting sick. Even brush your teeth using the bottled water provided.

We left a note for our maid to make sure there was plenty of bottled water each day. She left us many large bottles and we were never short.

The water and ice in the restaurants all come from bottles as well.

They provided bottled water in the rooms and refilled when ever we asked for it. But not sure about the bars, although they did say water was the same as bottled water in the buffet.
