I will go to Iceland next April. I plan to go glacier walk and to Jokulsarlon Lagoon. Can I spot any seals basking on the iceberg at that time?
it's is a great possibility. We saw numerous seals not only on the bergs, but also swimming around among the icebergs.
we saw the greatest numbers congregating around the mouth of the lagoon as it drains into the ocean.
in truth, we watched as high tide reversed the flow of water and pushed icebergs back up into the lagoon.
we were told that this is where and when numbers of fish also enter the brackish waters, thus attracting seals to a concentrated area located between the lagoon and the bridge.
for the most part, these seals seemed oblivious to the presence of human activities that lined the shores and came out on the various your boats.
I suggest a telephoto lens greater than 300mm to get better photos.
