Where or does any one know the e-mail address for getting dinner reservations for the Iberostar Maya?
I'm curious if the Maya Lobby Bar is opened and serving alcohol? I was told that it was shut down but no time frame was given.
I have been reading several news reports about suspected tainting of alcoholic drinks at this resort and several others in the Mayan area. These are not just cases of over-drinking but cases where individuals believe they have been served something that literally knocks them out. Several recent drownings in hotel pools supposedly could be the result of this. Why am I not reading these on TripAdvisor? Are they being blocked? A US report on alcohol served at these resorts states that only 43% of alcohol consumed is the actual "real deal" as labelled on the outside of the bottle. Can anyone provide answers to my question?
We are going in the first week of Oct Do they get very busy at that time and dose this Resort get very full at this time ?
I have read that many of the Iberostar resorts in the Playa del Carmen area have been charged with providing tainted alcohol. Has Iberostar issued a statement of what they will be doing to assure guests that this will not be a problem in the future? From some of the stories that have circulated, it seems that some guests had a "date rape" type of drug added to their drink because they blacked out and some were assaulted. This is enough to discourage any traveler from booking a "vacation" at a resort where these kinds of things are happening.
