POSITIVES: Entertainment was great, especially The Alley Cats. Bobby the cruise director was fun and engaging. Even after some of the ship’s entertainers got sick, they pulled together a wonderful show at the very last minute. Our room steward was very friendly. NEGATIVES: We were lucky enough to have an early boarding time so we managed to get through the process in about 45 minutes (still longer than usual) but others waited in line for over 2 hours. Most of the service staff was terrible. The only place we felt welcome was in the MDR and even they were constantly reminding us that they wanted a high rating on their survey. Here are some examples… We are diamond but usually only have 2 or 3 drinks per day. During the day, we like to have a Miami Vice. Well, on day 1, they made it with clear rum. Day 2 they told us they couldn’t make it at the pool bar so we had to go to another bar, where they apparently didn’t put any rum in it. Day 3, the bartender made it with dark rum, which is the way it’s been made on other RCI ships and the way we like them. (He was in the Viking Crown lounge and the first and only bartender who was friendly). Day 4, the bartender put mango in it, realized his mistake and said, “don’t worry, it’s still good like this” and gave it to us anyway. After that, we just searched for a bar and told them how to make it. There was almost no poolside service. Absolutely no one on the upper deck. (There were 5 or 6 empty glasses that people had set on a chest that were there when we got up there and still there when we left 5 hours later.) I asked for a coke in the windjammer at lunchtime and they sent me out to the pool bar to get it. I guess they were too busy? The coke at the pool bar was flat for at least 2 days. The soda in the machine was also flat. I had to search for soda. The bars never bothered to restock. If they ran out of something, they just said they didn’t have it. This happened with Mich ultra, Amoretto, Kailua, Pinot Grigio, and pina colada mix. Keep in mind we only drink 2 or 3 drinks a day so it seemed like every time we wanted something, they were out of it where we were, and they weren’t interested in going to get more. One bartender gave us about a shot of Pinot Grigio and asked if it was ok. I guess he didn’t want to go get another bottle. We said no thanks and had to take a glass of Chardonnay instead. The bartenders always seemed annoyed that we were bothering them. One evening, I asked for a Mich Ultra and an Amoretto with OJ and Cranberry at the centrum bar. She didn’t have the Mich that night, so I went to Boleros’ to get it. I came back for the Amaretto and she asked if we wanted water with it. I said ok, (figuring a glass of water) and she proceeds to get me a bottle of water and tells me she is taking it out of my diamond free drink allotment (knowing full well that I also have the soda package.) I told her never mind and she seemed ticked off. We were told to get towels from the pool for Coco Cay. We went to the pool to get them and they told us that they were out, so we should just get them at coco cay. We went to towel station at coco cay and they told us that they were out of towels and to come back in ½ hour. We came back in ½ hour and they told us they still didn’t have towels so we should go to another towel station to check. I told him he should use his walkie talkie to call the other towel station and if they have towels, they should bring them to us. He seemed to have trouble understanding that concept. We eventually got towels from other guests. We were able to get soft-serve ice cream 2 of the 5 times we tried. The other 3 times the machine was not working properly. Hot water in the shower was a rarity in the morning. Couldn’t lay out on pool deck while docked in Nassau because the exhaust fumes from the ship were so strong they were making us ill. Check-in to MDR seemed confused. Gave us a table one night and forgot to tell the wait staff, so we waited ½ hour before we were noticed. Windjammer coffee was OK. MDR coffee was undrinkable, I tried 3 nights in a row and then gave up. It was as thick as mud. I get that a lot of people have the deluxe drink packages so they don’t care if the bartenders are rude, don’t make the drinks correctly or don’t have exactly what they want. But, some of us still appreciate good service and like to cruise specifically because we expect, and have grown accustomed to, good service. This ship had, far and away, the worst service of any ship I have ever sailed on. This includes all of the Carnival, Norwegian, Princess and RCI cruises I have taken. To add insult to injury, we took a couple with us whom we are trying to get involved in cruising. They are less than enthusiastic now and said that they would never get on Enchantment of the Seas again.

Of all the companies we have dealt with during this pandemic Royal Caribbean has been the absolute worst. Even tho we had spent quite a bit of money on insurance they refused to give us a full refund even tho THEY cancelled the cruise. The gave us a partial refund and a partial credit. Every other company we dealt with gave us full refunds due to the pandemic. Royal Caribbean thinks they are entitled to keep some of our money and offer a "cruise credit" How on earth they think we would ever want to go a on cruise with them after they way they have treated us and others is beyond me. Many companies handled this situation very well others did not. Royal Caribbean's handling of it was horrible.

We had booked a cruise leaving San Juan on November 14, 2020. One of our family members didn't feel good about traveling at that time so we called and cancelled. We were told at the time (it has been 6 weeks) that we would be receiving a Future Cruise Credit Certificate that we can use. To date we have not received the credit and we ended up booking on another line because of it. Has anyone else been having problems receiving their credits? We would love to book another cruise on RC but not if we are going to have to pay for something we already paid for.

We weren’t able to stop at 1 of our ports because another ship was in our spot. We missed a major part of our trip. The rock climbing wall was closed. The ship was old and pictures were incorrect. The windows in the dining area and our kids rooms were filthy. The boat shook so much at night we couldn’t sleep. Not rocking but shaking like something was wrong with the engines. We bought the drunk package. Drinks were small with little alcohol in it

Our only other cruise in recent years was a Disney that is a step above the Royal Caribbean (RC) experience. No real complaints about RC. Food was good, entertainment was good. Showing of Super Bowl was great. Progresso Mexico was not impressive. The dock is at the end of a mile long pier with free bus service to town. Cozumel was a much better stop. WIFI was expensive at $70 per device. Verizon cell service was available in ports for $5 per day per device. The one thing that would have made the cruise better would be an easy method to communicate with other passengers. We could not locate our friends at times.
