Richard and family so chatty and welcoming - especially grandad in the shop - we love him x Staff friendly and knowledgeable about all the animals - engaged both my boys in talking about them. Clearly everyone working really hard throughout the day, chatting and so lovely with all the kids. Such a pleasure to support a truly family run experience.Written February 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jake P7 contributionsThe place is lovely, nice setting and very friendly. The 2 ales I had were fantastic aswell. Mocktail we had was very heavy on the lemon juice and very sour and close to undrinkable . Food was piping hot and tasty, few suggestions not criticisms, nachos were house made and nice but lacked like a cheese sauce or guacamole over the top so were a lil dry and unpleasant to eat. And they’re stated on the menu but I’m guessing we just didn’t see it, but the addition of deep fried mackerel/sardines on the sharing platter was a bit unorthodox and didn’t really fit the rest of the platter but otherwise all good, would come back again definitely and maybe try a different dish.Written January 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Winternest17 contributionsLovely spacious park with beautiful flowers, band stand, putt putt golf, lawn bowling, tennis and a nice playground. A statue of the WW1 poet Wilfred Owen & memorials to the fallen in both World Wars. You can quickly cut through to the shops, cafes, fish & chip shop, pubs & the post office by the playground.Written July 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Odyssey36091307266Oswestry, UK1 contributionI'm sorry but I have to chip in after reading some of the reviews. One. Those dog walkers who apparently ruined your visit probably live here and take their dogs out for a walk. wouldnt you if you had access to something like that?Written November 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JD1 contributionI took my two boys (aged 8 and 6) on the Santa train on Sunday 3rd December. We had a great time and even had a bit of snow to make it feel extra special! Santa was lovely and had some great jokes for us. All the staff were really friendly and the driver of the steam train let the boys have a look on the engine . They have asked if they can come back next weekend!Written December 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - vivEnglandPreston, UK774 contributionsWe were passing by and looked through the window and it looked like it would certainly be worth a visit. They had an exhibition on that they described as - An exhibition for established and emerging textile artists working with stitch, fabric and mixed media. What a fantastic range of different types of textiles and it is really hard to describe the work and how talented they all were. It is on until the 19th August, so don't miss an opportunity to view them. There is also a cafe.Written July 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Diane HHanley, UK3 contributionsHi Rach & Mike we had a very warm welcome from Mike when we arrived he even bought us a glass of wine when we arrived on Friday. You have got an amazing place and an absolutely amazing shower block. we also had an amazing meal, and food is excellent. However we went in the function room on Friday with the dog 🐕 im the person you allowed Rick (Bichon Frise in the main room once food had stopped this was the same last night food had stopped so we sat in the big room again today there was a christening and no tables outside other than a table in-between smokers !! So the time was 16.20, so we entered the big room with Rick, then we was told that dogs are not allowed in here. You will have to go outside ? Yet the other bar person advised that food has stopped, so you're ok to sit in ? Rach, can you please clarify which bar staff is correct. Need to know for the next time we come take care hope the cost house is everything and more for you to relax and enjoy xxWritten May 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
