What travelers are saying
- Terry AnzurThe Palm Beaches, FL1,431 contributionsA lively medieval town, full of history from the Knights Templar to the statue of the community pig that is said to wander the streets. Definitely check out the local ham and red wine. Only a 15 minute walk from the nearby Abadio de Los Templarios resort.Written September 6, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Suzie MLa Cala de Mijas, Spain22 contributionsFull of old world charm... as it was a holiday when we arrived, the locals were all dressed up in their traditional costumes and performed dances unique to them. The market too had traditional local fayre. We had a sumptuous meal at a local restaurant good value for money.Written November 5, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anne JColchester, UK84 contributionsGreatly appreciated help given by a lady from the Park Office with suggestions about how best to spend the day, and in providing useful maps. Her English was perfect too as sadly our Spanish is limited. Could have spent much longer than one day here....
Without this help our day would not have been so perfect.
We parked in the car park and walked along the well marked trail along the valley, stopping at first 2 caves. Sadly we didn’t find the third...suspect some path re-routing may be ongoing.
Saw a wild boar and a black snake.
Peace, surroundings and good weather helped us truly appreciate the natural world at its best here.
Villages were interesting....time capsules.
This is a truly great area which I hope remains natural for others in the future to enjoy.Written October 30, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. So much love went into sharing his grandparents place, that is is certainly a tribute - to the village too as the unmissable video explains how the houses were built and lived in. Beautiful.... simply don’t miss it as it was our favourite part of the very beautiful village.Written April 20, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TAtraveller141Hope, UK60 contributionsGood car park with information boards and a free shuttle up the mountain to the caste. Unfortunatelhy we could not go because dogs are not allowed on the busWritten May 7, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DuquesadinerGlasgow, UK1,403 contributionsThis church is positioned on a side street just off of Plaza Major, or the centre of the village of La Alberca. It is small but beautiful inside and when we visited they were playing choral music in the background. You can take photos but no use of flash is allowed. Well worth a look if you happen to be in La Alberca.Written October 3, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NomadicTraveller7Fuerteventura9,977 contributionsWe eventually foudn thsi very small tourist office, however there was a notice saying that it was only open when we were there in late April on a Friday afternoon/evening and Saturday and Sunday. Do not rely on it being open at any other time, though thsi may change in July and AugustWritten May 3, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
