What travelers are saying
- Duncan E5 contributionsI walked a dozen waterfalls on my 3 week holiday to nz. This was easily the best. Excellent viewing platforms. From multiple locations. Track well maintained. Toilets at start of track, and its a long walk back if you decided to skip them on the way in. The drive was longer than I thought. But well worth it.Written February 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Trixie70Mandurah, Australia316 contributionsNice black volcanic sand beach with beautiful views before you drive down into the carpark. It is a surf beach, so you must swim between the flags. Personally I don't find these beaches the type I want to swim at but great fun for body boarding and surfing.Written January 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Emma1 contributionBrilliant ride with Wayne and River. Horses are well looked after and suited to all level of riders. Incredible scenery as you ride through the farm down to the beach, and you can’t beat a canter along the black sand of Ruapuke. Highly recommend a ride with these guys, whether you’re a total newbie or more experienced.Written July 3, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 67TravelBug67Auckland, New Zealand1,037 contributionsAround a 15 minute drive from Manu Bay up a winding dirt road round some hairpin corners you are rewarded with stunning views.
The lookout car park is not very big and was full of what must have been trampers cars.
The lookout platform is maybe 100m from the carpark and offers stunning views up the Coast. It is a sheer drop underneath so not for the those scared of heights. You can also walk down the hill a bit with more views. Definitely worth the drive out!Written April 30, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We were so glad we did as this lovely beach is just breath taking. There's a few hundred metre walk from the carpark over the sand dunes to some of the best and most consistent set of surf breaks I've ever seen. No wonder people rave about the surf at Raglan. Well worth going for a swim, a surf or a walk. Really peaceful and almost pristine. Thoroughly recommended.Written August 2, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- WCOBPaekakariki, New Zealand387 contributionsThe track is steep at the beginning and well marked. The track is easy to follow and there are lots of rocks to clamber over. There is a section where there are chains and a steep ladder to connect the track. There is another section where there is a chain that goes up about 30 metres. I would suggest going with at least one other able person but otherwise it's adventurous!Written May 4, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Andy MWaihi Beach, New Zealand16 contributionsIt's no bush trail as you walk mainly on a gravel road but the towers are huge.
