Gros Morne National Park Rocky Harbour 9.0 mi away

... green point with a park guide educating us about the millions of years of strata under our feet , a unesco world heritage hidden gem! Trout pond tour is exceptional too Tablelands are amazing and unique .
There are many walks and hikes from easy to climbing the mountain over days! the southern part of the park and the Tablelands are also wonderful, and can be easy or challenging depending on the walk.

We had Gorgeous weather for the Fjords Tour, omg what an amazing beautiful place, The entire 2 hours was very informative , Great crew answered everyone’s questions, , I recommend this as a MUST SEE !!
With an easy (for the reasonably in shape) walk/hike to the touring location and the tour itself, the Western Brook Pond attraction is phenomenal, sharing the top spot (in my opinion) of the attractions in Newfoun...

Short tours given by biology students which are nice and the best part is the little touch tank they have for kids to hold small crabs, snails, sea urchins, starfish, etc. and watch them feed and interact with eac...
We had fun learning about, and touching, all the sea animals and learning about the ecosystem of Bonne Bay and Gros Morne.
Gros Morne Mountain (James Callaghan) Trail Gros Morne National Park 12.6 mi away
#5 of 21 Nature & Parks in Gros Morne National Park
Part of the mountain range was covered by the cloud, however, a bit below the summit and on our way hiking down, we were rewarded with a spectacular view of the Ten Mile Brook Pond (see my photos).
The summit gives a glimpse into the tundra-like environment and provides some great vistas over the surrounding mountain ranges, "ponds" and the sea.
Shallow Bay Beach Cow Head 14.7 mi away
#1 of 2 Nature & Parks in Cow Head
This long beach of super fine sand is a unique paradise in a world of rock, cliffs and fjords.
Shallow Bay beach is located at Cow Head just off the Viking Trail, Rout 430 in Gros Morne National Park.
Green Gardens Trout River 19.9 mi away

Well marked trail but lots and lots of steps - well worth the trip to the coast though where you can walk along the shore and see a few local sheep - which is apparently unusual for this part of Newfie.
... in the challenging 9km hike, try the Eastern Point Trail in Trout River (the hike is only 2km return, with only one set of stairs and then mostly flat terrain on the cliffs) which you could do in about an hour.
Green Point Cow Head 3.8 mi away
#2 of 2 Nature & Parks in Cow Head
Well worth a slight detour off the road, then a walk down to the beach, to see an amazing array of strata and, especially, the boundary between the Ordovician and the Cambrian.
Walking along the shore and getting entwined with the tangible sense of the tour while listening to the guide tell us about the history and landscape is just amazing.

You are 5 minutes away from the Trout River Pond (and another great hike, 14km return, or better, take the Wild Gros Morne water taxi out, and hike back 7km along the Tablelands and through the forest beside the p...

Gros Morne park and the surrounding communities (Woody Point, Trout River, Lamond, Rocky Harbour, Norris Point etc etc) is one of my favourite places to visit in the world, stunningly beautiful places and people.
As you stroll on a flat trail for 1.5km you see amazing views of the bay, the town, the lighthouse and then at the end you walk along the ocean for 300 yards with great views.
Trout River Pond Gros Morne National Park 16.5 mi away
#15 of 21 Nature & Parks in Gros Morne National Park
You'll find yourself wading through creeks (waterproof hiking boots HIGHLY recommended for this one), up through the forest and then along the backside of the Tablelands until you get to where you can see the wall...
Booked with Wild Gros Morne who dropped me off at the far end of Trout River Pond (while doing their daily boat tour).
