Old Cinema Launderette

Durham, UK 4.8 mi away
#10 of 20 Nightlife in Durham
Situated a mile or so outside Durham city centre - as others have commented a disused small cinema converted to a fully functional launderette, bar & music venue.
I bought my partner tickets to see some live music at this venue just outside Durham city.

We often pop in for tea after work.
I arranged for the staff to pop in periodically to take orders for drinks and was able to settle up for food and bar bill after the event.

The Station House

Fantastic old fashioned pub, real ale on gravity, Pennine Pale just wonderful.
My favorites tend to be old-school local pubs, but these have two drawbacks: first, the clientele tends to be a bit older and second, the beer is often not well cared-for.

Durham Brewery

Durham, UK 6.8 mi away

Excellent beer, delightful staff, hilarious and informative brewery tours, and a pleasantly off-beat place to settle down for a reflective pint or two.
A short walk about and a wonderful tasting and discussion about beers and the unique heritage craftsmanship of the very “real” well made beers of this brewery.
