What travelers are saying
- Damo1367Newcastle upon Tyne, UK466 contributionsA super well priced day out. Lots to see in all the old camp buildings, stacks of memorabilia. Each camp building focuses on a different phase of the war, like the blitz, the war at sea, submarines, RAF, land forces, you can see loads of antiquities and uniforms and medals and weapons. Lots of super enthusiasts there to offer knowledge on weapons and also weapons testing, vehicles and even a V1 rocket, lots of folk dressed in clothing of the day including uniforms. Just a great place.Written February 13, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Enclosures very dated and unkept all could do with a refresh. Flamingos all in a crammed dirty space indoors with very little water.Written December 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - johnhouston2Knaresborough, UK5,422 contributionsA trip to Malton wouldn’t be complete without a wander round Ralph Yates and Sons where you can get anything from a 75 pence shoe horn to a three thousand pound range cooker and a host things in between.
If I had to come up with a description of what this shop is all about, it would include the suggestion that “it is full of stuff that you didn’t realise you needed!”

- BEV FWakefield, UK246 contributionsAfter parking in the small car park we followed the signs to the medieval village! Our young grandsons thankfully had their wellies with them, as it was rather muddy in places on the walk. Fascinating insight to the past! Well worth a visit if you are in the area, and the views are beautiful.Written April 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mason Cartwright24 contributionsI’m a coaster enthusiast who loves smooth and thrilling rides and there are many rides here that live up to that expectation. First of all we have SIK which is the best at the park and has comfortable restraints. Next we have Kumali which are normally rough rides but this is the best because it’s intense and Wippy. Now we have velocity which has uncomfortable restraints but the intensity of the launch makes up for that. We have mumbo jumbo now which is fun but could be better if it had GOOD restraints because it rests on your shoulders and restricts airtime and hangtime. Now finally we have the chamber HERO, THIS RIDE SHOULD BE IMPLODED. Nice parkWritten January 12, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ANDREW PLeeds, UK97 contributionsArranged at short notice as we were staying overnight in nearby Malton. Excellent communications from Anna as we’re mainly wanted to feed the alpacas and see them close-up.
Arrived 2.15 Sunday and met by Anna, who working in one of the nearby paddocks. Very friendly and easy to talk to.
Process explained, off we went to feed the various animals - mainly alpacas, but they also have some really gorgeous “teddy bear” sheep, chickens, and a duck as well as a rabbit, a guinea pig and a goat. Guessing around 40 alpacas - segregated into males, females, females with their 2024 offspring mixed with pregnant females.
Anna explained all about each of the different groups, their different characteristics, plus things like how their breeding program works, best ways to feed them etc. Brilliant personal info about the super-cute baby alpacas as well as the extra fluffy sheep (Ryeland ?) who used to roam free when lambs.
Anna also does community work nearby and within Yorkshire - has special experience with sensitive children who find textures and clues-up animal contact stimulating.
We spent an hour and twenty mins and could have stayed longer, as genuinely no pressure to leave.
Hand-washing facilities and one toilet, plus an opportunity to buy freshly-laid eggs.
At £10 per person, it should be a lot more in our view - total bargain. A little out of the way but well worth the effort. We loved it. Highly recommended.Written September 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Roman artifacts in particular are well worth seeing. The volunteer staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
