- Becky P55 contributionsWell, well, well what can I say – absolutely amazing from start to finish, memories that will last a lifetime. We have used JT safaris before when we visited Kenya and things were great so when returning to Kenya there was no hesitation to use his company again.
We contacted JT safaris from the UK and planned our trips, we sent a small deposit and then paid the rest when we met him once in Kenya. The organisation of the trips were ‘second to none’, arranged extremely well with our involvement once we was in Kenya. On arrival at Diani Beach Julius contacted us and we met up to finalise details and paid the final fee.
We completed amazing, absolutely memorable safaris which Julius arranged from start to finish. We visited Tsavo for three nights, two days and done the same for Maasai Mara – we were lucky enough to observe the big 5, obviously including a Rhino which was amazing to see in the wild. At Tsavo and Maasia Mara we had a private jeep for the three of us and a driver/guide. At Tsavo we did the night game drive which I would recommend, it is extra but worth it – while out we watched three female lions stalking and then going for the kill of the Gazelle’s (they missed but continued to stalk), saw night mongoose etc.
We had a great guide for Tsavo and an AMAZING guide in Maasia Mara called Robert (photo attached) if you go to Maasia Mara ask for Robert he is amazing, knows the land, animals and goes out of his way to find the animals that you want to find – it was due to his persistence and expertise that we saw the Rhino!!!!!!
In Tsavo and Maasai Mara we had the most wonderful/ amazing safari. We saw a Rhino, male lions, female lions with their babies, Elephants with babies, zebras with babies, cheetahs with teenagers, antelope, giraffes with babies, hippos, monitor lizard, ostrich with babies, buffalos, hyena’s, water-hogs, crocodile and so much more.
Both guides were really knowledgeable but Robert knew his homeland and the animals ‘inside out’, as a tribe man he knew where the animals would be and at what time, which way the wind was so where the animals would be – I could not recommend Robert enough as a guide he was absolutely amazing and I am almost certain that we would not have seen as much without him. Robert let us stay for as long as we wanted while we viewed the animals and it was so refreshing to see him being as interested in the animals as we were and some of the animals he took photos of as he said that they are rarely seen. We could not have wanted more. Robert’s knowledge and keen eye for spotting wildlife meant that we saw so many types of animals.
I genuinely cannot recommend JT Safaris enough. All our needs were catered for and it absolutely made our holiday. Robert was brilliant and when we do a safari again we will not hesitate to contact Julius and Robert. We could not have asked for better. I have two sets of friends who are visiting Kenya next year, I have recommended JT safaris and they are already in communication with him. Each safari and what you wanted, expected from the trip was designed with you in mind, personalised they were not ‘bog standard’.
Thank you for organising our safaris and making our holiday and experience amazing.Written October 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our drivers Yusuf and James were always within the first to spot some new animals, they have a lot of knowledge about the fauna and flora. We had a well organised pickup at Mombasa airport where our safari started to Tsavo West, Amboselli, Tsavo East and ending in Ngutini. Good quality jeeps with wifi. OranjeSafari is TOP!Written January 7, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Patryk W7 contributionsAmazing adventure in an unbelievable setting! I travel a lot but it’s the first travel agency I am so happy with. I was welcomed with a great hospitality and enjoyed our communication from the very first phone call. Caroline stayed in touch with us all the time and helped us greatly with things as big as reorganizing the trip due to the flight cancellation and with the details such as checking us in for an internal flight. All the trips were well-thought-out and provided us with incredible experiences. I will surely book with Tanke Tours & Safaris again in the future!Written September 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - angela mNairobi, Kenya48 contributionsFriendly staff. For a first time jump, they put me at ease. Thank you Angelo for a memorable jump. The instructions were clear and the staff very professional. The professionalism extended to just the right amount of humor and friendly banter to ensure that the clients were put at ease before the jump. Would do it again... and again. Pro tip, do not eat before the jump especially if you have motion sickness.Written January 1, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
