- MODLondon, UK10 contributionsFor a 40th birthday present Pila Pilpa Dhow safaris had been recommended to us by friends living in Kenya - it was magical from start to finish :) Even arranging this from the UK was made super easy and the team made the whole day feel special and effortless. The dives were incredible—we saw a white tip reef shark, octopus, turtle, loads of lobster, a big moray eel, and just so many beautiful fish! The water was so clear, and the whole experience was just breathtaking. After the dives, we headed to Wasini for an amazing crab lunch that was honestly one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Just when things seemed like they couldn’t get better the staff surprised us with a birthday cake after lunch! It was such a thoughtful touch, and my partner was completely blown away. The team was fantastic—so friendly, fun, and attentive. They made sure everything was perfect and created such a relaxed, happy atmosphere. If you’re looking for an incredible Dhow adventure, this is it. Between the diving, the food, and the amazing crew, it was an unforgettable day. The food was absolutely delicious, and they provided so many interesting insights that made the experience even more enriching. Swimming with the dolphins was truly magical, as we got up close with these graceful creatures in their natural habitat. The delicious food served during the tour was a delightful treat, fresh and full of flavor. The visit to the shimoni slave caves added an intriguing historical touch to the day, offering a glimpse into the past. - Daniel M1 contributionThe safari was amazing and we really enjoyed it. Francis was an amazing guide and also just very fun, knowledgable and engaging to chat to throughout the trip. He was determined for us to see all the animals possible on the day and also had binoculars for us to see the lions which weren’t too visible by the road through the Park.

We saw an incredible variety of animals, making the experience truly special.
The second lodge „saltkick“ was breathtaking, with comfortable accommodations and a stunning setting. The food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. However, the „Voi Lodge“ on the first night wasn’t quite as nice. It was very crowded, and unfortunately, there was no AC in the room, which made it less comfortable.
A big thank you to our driver Joseph! He was knowledgeable, answered all our questions, and let us adjust the schedule as needed, which made the safari even more enjoyable. Seeing the dolphins was an absolutely amazing experience. The locals we encountered were very friendly as we took a walk along the trails where we saw some nice historical views. Dicky made arrangements for a "custom" tour since our flight arrived after the regular departures for Wasini Island.
When all goes smoothly it's easy to have a positive review. You really learn about the quality of a provider when there is a hiccup. We did have a hiccup--confusion on the date of arrival (related to WhatsApp communications that were one day in the US, but the next day in Kenya). Dicky immediately leaped into action, and with very short notice rearranged things so that we were able to make the trip regardless.
We had a great day out on the reef, the snorkeling is top notch. I've been to similar reefs in Australia, Colombia, Honduras, and Fiji. Fortunate enough to see all of the animals we were hoping to on our game drives as well as amazing landscapes. Our accommodations had delicious food and wildlife. - Natalie K1 contributionWe came to Kenya for vacation and relax holiday at diani beach, therefore we decided to only book a one-day safari to get a taste of the Safari life. And it was the best decision we made! The booking was very easy and uncomplicated, as well as the payment process. We got instructions and the drivers number beforehand in Case of emergeny. We left really early in the morning at 4 am and therefore we were also the first people arriving at Tsavo East. We saw everything we wanted to see and the very nice and friendly driver Henry gave us enough time to take pictures. He explained everything nicely and answered all our questions. The lunch buffet at the lodge was also really great and had a big variety to chose from. After lunch we had another game drive and left the park just in time, so that we werd back at our hotel at around 6.30 pm as planned.
